There are over 30 carved stone domes in Cairo from the Mamluk era. They are to Cairo what the spires are to Oxford, if Oxford had 3 giant pyramids in it. The Qaitbay dome is one of the finest, combining 10, 9, 5, and 16-pointed star patterns on the dome’s surface.
